Our 300+ days of sunshine a year mean we perform our landscape design and installation tasks year-round. This surprises many who think the ground is too frozen or the air too cold to dream up fabulous landscape designs for new homes, landscape renovations or special garden areas.
Winter is a great time to start a landscape project. Outdoor Craftsmen takes advantage of snow days with focused time crafting new designs, learning about the newest in landscape trends, pruning dormant trees and plants (the best time to prune in most U.S. regions), adorning holiday containers, and eliminating brown spots and last summer’s crab grass from lawns.
We get the very best prices on bare-root trees and roses before the spring rush and we have more quality time to spend on creating beautiful outdoor environments for our clients. Importantly, we work with our clients to set up their outdoor spaces for success come spring by not neglecting winter watering, raking leaves that could be harboring mold and fungus, wrapping younger trees to avoid frost and prevent sun scald, and protecting trees and shrubs against road salt.
Outdoor Craftsmen’s creativity blossoms this time of year with ideas for stunning winter containers and home lighting that lends warmth to any home in the shortest, darkest days of the year. Outdoor lighting is particularly beautiful in winter, even past the holiday season. We consider not only lighting for the home and landscape, but also for lighting up walkways, pathways, and driveways with a warm and welcoming glow.
