Outdoor Craftsmen founder Scott Deemer has long held the philosophy that outdoor landscapes and gardens should confer wellness onto the people who live in an environment with outdoor spaces.
After 35+ years in landscape design and build we have not veered away from Scott’s original methodology of creating landscapes that engage all the senses so that mind and body are in tune with one another.
Wellness design considers how one experiences their outdoor spaces, including views, energy flow, and ways in which one navigates the space. We want our clients to experience a strong and positive connection to nature through multisensory inclusions such as aromatic plantings, textured elements, and water features for sound.
We want to alter mood and encourage rejuvenation in the spaces we design, aiming for a holistic outcome. Recent landscape designs we’ve completed include neutral, calming color palettes, biophilic design (connecting architecture with nature), and outdoor-indoor integration.
This is important because good design supports improved health and wellbeing. It considers the physical, mental, and emotion effects on the people who occupy the space with the goal of soothing, creating harmony, and improving your happiness.
