You want to be in your landscape and feel connected to nature. Surrounding yourself with the energy of the natural world is good for both physical and mental well-being (proven to reduce stress hormone production, improve feelings of happiness, free up creativity, lower heart rate and blood pressure, and boost the immune system and accelerate recovery from illness).
Through ‘Mindful Design’ a landscape is thoughtfully considered with areas for contemplation, inspiration, and renewal, and genuinely feels like there is the presence of healing.
Mindful design is not confined to just a courtyard or portion of the landscape. It is integrated throughout the entirety of the landscape design to create restorative spaces that naturally imbue a healing experience.
Outdoor Craftsmen has practiced “mindful design” in the landscape for decades using nature as inspiration. Fire, water, stone, color, textures, and smell all stimulate the senses and add a next-level experience to those using the space and serve as our palette in all that we create in nature.
We incorporate contemplative space(s) in our landscape designs where the homeowner and guests may find quiet and calm, and practice meditation, yoga, or simply to sit and absorb nature’s positive energy.
