Paths and walkways are the connections through your entire property – the trusty workhorses that make stepping into and around your home’s outdoor places a pleasure.
Paths are useful and practical – they are the movers of people, pets, and stuff. They are the civil engineering facet of landscape design, a foundational infrastructure on which much of the rest of the landscape is based.
Primary paths (front and back walkways) lead you and visitors to and away from the home from the outside. Many are straight, although Outdoor Craftsmen’s designers prefer some movement whether by drawing intentional curves or using the soft edges of the path materials themselves to create it.
We take cues from the exterior of the home and its architectural style in planning what materials to use for a path or walkway, creating a subtle but cohesive repeat. Curved or nearly straight, paths lead you and visitors forward, ostensibly to something special.
