Niwot resident and local business owner Scott Deemer of Outdoor Craftsmen has committed his company’s resources for the creation of a public art space in the Cottonwood Park West neighborhood of this small Colorado community.

Deemer and his team will contribute their design and project management expertise along with considerable labor and materials to bring the project to fruition. They will be working in collaboration with other local businesses and civic organizations, including the Niwot Business Association, the neighborhood’s HOA, Rotary, and Boulder County.

According to an article about the project in the Niwot Left Hand Valley Courier, Deemer explained that his involvement in the project is “a way for him to share his success with his adopted hometown”.  Deemer has been a resident since 2000, and started Outdoor Craftsmen in the area in 2004.

“I opened my business in 2004 and it has flourished, and that has a lot to do with the homes in the Niwot area,” he is quoted as saying. Deemer went on to say that he wants to share his good fortune with the community, and create “something of beauty for the whole community to enjoy.”

The project will be located on the southwest corner of 79th Street and Niwot Road in the town of Niwot, and will include ample seating areas, a flagstone walkway, and display space for outdoor art/sculptures in and among large flowering garden beds. It is expected to be complete in the spring of 2018.

The project is a perfect fit for Outdoor Craftsmen, whose award-winning work is distinguished by luxury design, sustainability (including long-term considerations of water conservation), and craftsmanship in the implementation of everything they do.
Deemer says he wants to deliver “a design that… provides a centerpiece for the area that reflects the rich arts community and aesthetic appeal of the town.”  Deemer is himself a fine artist whose works include paintings and outdoor art sculptures.

Outdoor Craftsmen has been involved previously in the early design of Niwot Children’s Park, and providing landscape design services for a number of local businesses.
